Problem: You're working remotely, but your password isn't working, so you can't log in to get work done.

For best results, if you haven't signed into a laptop for a while and you know you are going to bring it off site, sign into it while you're still at the office to make sure the password is up to date.
Fast Forward
Solutions: If you happen to be off site and can't sign into the laptop you brought with you, try the following:
- If there's an Ethernet (network) cable available, plug the cable into your laptop, restart, and try signing in with the password.
- If there's no Ethernet cable available, see if you can connect to the WiFi network before you try signing in. Often there is a little WiFi symbol towards the bottom right of the sign on screen before you sign in.
- As a last resort, if there's some free WiFi internet nearby, such as a local Starbucks, Panera Bread, etc., see if you can sign into your laptop there. Then take the laptop back to your off-site location.
