On one side, you might want to mark a sender or email as junk and block them.
On the other side, you might want to mark a sender or email as not junk. And on the same side, you might have accidentally marked someone as junk and undo that.
Mark it as Junk / Block
"Nah, I don't want that junk." Block the sender!
- Click the email from the sender you want to block.
- In the Home ribbon, click the arrow next to Junk and click Block Sender. Never receive email from this sender again!
Add to Safe Senders List / Unblock
"I always want mail from this person!"
If you still have an email from that sender:
- Select the email you want to add to the Safe Senders List.
- Sometimes there's already a notification you can click on to get a dropdown menu that looks like this:
In which case you can click Add Sender to Safe Senders List. While it looks like you can add an entire domain to the Safe Senders List, you can't actually do that for security/phishing reasons. - Boom, receive their emails always.
If you accidentally blocked a sender, you can unblock them / mark them as not junk.
If you accidentally blocked a sender, but still have an email from them:
- Select the email you accidentally blocked.
- In the Home ribbon, click the arrow next to Junk and click Not Junk. Start receiving emails from this sender again!
If you no longer have an email from that sender, but know the email address:
- Select the email you want to add to your safe senders list.
- In the Home ribbon, click the arrow next to Junk and click Junk E-Mail Options...
- Click on the Safe Senders tab.
- Click Add... and add the specific email address and click OK, then click OK again.
