How do I scan from my home printer?

Please note: We only offer best effort support for home printers, and we do not recommend or support Wi-Fi printing. Connecting your printer via USB cable to your printer is usually the most reliable method.

Did you know your Windows computer already comes with scanner software? It's called Windows Fax and Scan, and this guide will go over how to use the app. The only caveats are that some printer models may not be supported by this app and it cannot save to PDF, in which cases you can open a ticket with the Help Desk and we'll help find a solution.

1. Open your Windows Start Menu at the bottom left of your screen, then start typing Windows Fax and Scan. Once it appears in the search results, click to open it.
   
2. If your printer/scanner is already installed, simply click New Scan.
   
3. From there, you can select your desired scanning options, then click Scan when you're ready.
