Overview
You can create templates in PowerPoint to ensure consistency across different types of presentations, or even across an entire organization. This guide will help you import existing templates into your PowerPoint application.
Note: If you are interested in creating your own templates, please see this Microsoft guide.
Process
- In PowerPoint, click File in the Home Ribbon, and then click Open.
- Now select the location where the template is located. If the template has been saved on SharePoint, select the site name and browse to where the template file is located (see the item marked as 1 in the screenshot below). If the template has been saved to a local or network folder, select Browse and then navigate to the folder where the template file is located (see the item marked as 2 in the screenshot below).
- In this example, we clicked Browse because our test template is saved to a folder on the shared drive.
Once the template file has been opened in PowerPoint, you can edit it and save it as a regular .pptx file. To use the template again, simply follow the above steps again.
