Intro
Mobile Application Management ("MAM") allows staff with personal smart phones to access company resources with better security and privacy. The company may enforce policies such as requiring up-to-date software and a complex device password in order to protect sensitive information. Staff benefit from having a line drawn between work data and personal data, retaining control of the latter.
Requirements
- Up-to-Date Operating System ("OS") version 13 or newer
- Previously enrolled in MFA using the Authenticator app.
- 10-15 minutes to complete the self-enrollment steps listed below.
Setup Instructions
- Open the Google Play Store app and search for 'company portal'. Intune Company Portal by Microsoft Corporation, as seen below, is the correct choice. (be mindful of similar looking 'ads')
Tap 'Install' or 'Enable' or 'Update'. It may take a minute or two to complete installing and/or updating.
The Company Portal never needs to be opened or signed into.
Exit to the home screen and proceed to the next step. - Find the Microsoft Teams or Microsoft Outlook (or other desired company application) from the Play Store and install it if not already installed.
Launch the app and sign-in as instructed to add your work account.
You may need to enter your password to approve MFA.
Unless previously registered, you will be prompted to do so.
Tap Register and proceed.
Allow the app to finish confirming status.
Tap "CONTINUE" when prompted.
Agree to any additional terms and conditions, and then you should be all set.
Please repeat the process for any other company applications such as Outlook, etc.
