The free version of Adobe Reader is now user-installable. It does not have the expanded features that the paid versions of Adobe programs have, such as editing, etc. Any questions, please contact the CTD Help Desk.
How to self-install Adobe Reader
- Download the installer from this specific link (must use this link): Adobe Reader Download
- Double-click on the installer file that downloads (highlighted yellow below). You will then see a setup window indicating that it's extracting installation files (highlighted purple below).
- Once it's done extracting, you will see that it's ready to install. It's up to you to make Adobe Reader your default PDF app or not, so feel free to check or uncheck the box highlighted in red below as desired (this can always be changed later). Then click Install.
- The install process will take a few minutes. You can do other things on your computer while it installs. When it's done you'll see a message noting that setup is complete. At that point, you can click Finished.
